Why do we put ourselves in these situations….

Writing my very first blog post is somewhat daunting and unnerving. I mean what in the world are people actually interested in. So lets just start with what I’m doing at this point in time. I’m sitting here with my 4 year old daughter watching my 7 year old at soccer practice. We had the a typical rush into the house after work tonight with 45 minutes to spare before we had to be back out the door and on our way to practice. Within that 45 minutes we had to make dinner (which consisted of heating up tortellini from the night before), get my kids to eat said dinner, make my daughter a peanut butter sandwich (cause apparently the taste of the tortellini had changed from last night to tonight), tell my son 35 times to change his clothes for soccer, help my son with his shin guards and socks, usher the kids out the door while the dog is not happy that he’s not coming, pile kids in the car, tear apart the garage for the extra chairs (cause the normal chairs are in my husbands truck and he’s at work) and then finally get our happy butts to soccer practice. I also left out the tidbit that my husband is a firefighter so to add to all the fun I’m herding cats all by myself.

I’m sure we can all relate…

As chaotic as that sounds to some people I’m sure any parent or mom reading this is all too familiar with this routine and this is our routine damn near every night. It’s exhausting and stressful and I have no solutions for how to remedy this so if you came to this blog looking for that I am sorry but maybe another amazing mom reading this will have some recommendations they can post in the comments. So if any mamas have tips on how to streamline that post work mayhem between work and kids extracurricular activities please drop some tips in the comments because I’m a firm believer that it takes a village to raise these kiddos so I’m open to any and all advice any mamas might have.

My go-to soccer necessities for sitting here for 2 hours usually include a boat load of snacks for my daughter cause food always helps in fighting boredom, a good book for mom (unless I’m writing), water bottles for every family members, bug spray, sunscreen, a good lap blanket, a solid tote bag, and a portable charger for my phone cause using the hot spot burns through my batter life (probably should upgrade my 7 year old phone).
